The (Re) Purpose of This Blog

Spread the love

+JMJ

I originally started this blog to share my Catholic Faith, but it soon fell to the wayside because I was having trouble deciding what I should focus on. There was turmoil within me, and it didn’t feel right.

I have taken some time to pray and think. I believe I have decided on a focus that will honor God and bring others closer to Him.

It hit me with the following scripture:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.

Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we mot drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’

Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’

Matthew 7:21-23

“I never knew you…..”

These words were gut wrenching to me.

If Jesus said those words to me?

What if He said them to you?

Heart breaking……

While sitting there with these words I began to think about how you get to know someone?

You spend time with them!

The Lord has blessed us with a beautiful way to get to know Him!

Through Prayer!

My plan now is to share my Personal Relationship with Him. The way I know Him. The way I see Him. The way I feel Him.

My Prayers, my Scripture Meditations, my Contemplative Prayer, my Sacred Moments.

I will do this in hope that it will guide others to encounter Him and to truly know Him!

Because I have learned that the more you know Him the more you will love Him!

I look forward to sharing the wisdom the Lord has and continues to bestow on me through Prayer!

I suggest you read this next!

Small Disclaimer:

I am NOT a theologian and have not had any formal training in Catholic Theology.

I beg the Lord now to protect me from any and all heresy! In Jesus’ Most Holy Name. Amen.

I am NOT a mystic! (How amazing would that be though?!) So, when I describe my Sacred Moments or Contemplative Prayer keep this in mind! When I say, “Jesus says…..” it is to be viewed as the promptings of the Holy Spirit in my mind, not that Jesus has actually, physically, appeared to me.

I am a Passionist! I spend a great deal of time meditating and contemplating the Passion and Death of Our Lord. This may sound depressing, but as you will, hopefully, see it is, ironically, far from depressing!
